NEW Online Private High School - 7th Post - Business Plan

As I am searching for investors, it is important that I get my business plan finished so possible investors will know what the rewards will be as well as any problems.  Of course, the biggest problem is getting enough students.  I have ALWAYS had trouble with advertising, which is why I am looking for help and not trying to do it alone.  I will hire salespeople if needed, but hope we can get salespeople who will work on sales alone.  I know I can find great teachers.  There are many that are tired of brick-and-mortar schools and would jump at making a good wage teaching online.  I will prefer PhD teachers but will settle for Masters.

NEW Online Private High School - 6th Post - Asana

I am working on all the things that has to be done to get my future high school accredited.  Cognia gave me a bunch of info and I have put it in Asana.  So far there are 72 items.  I have one more big document to dissect.

Here are the things that I have to do so far:

  • Cognia Policies and Procedures - 9 subtasks
  • Assurances for Digital Learning Institutions - 16 subtasks
  • What makes a good school - Important Concepts - 3 subtasks
  • What makes a good school - Quality Characteristics - 4 subtasks
  • Key Characteristic 1: Culture of Learning - 6 subtasks
  • Key Characteristic 2: Leadership for Learning - 9 subtasks
  • Key Characteristic 3: Engagement of Learning - 8 subtasks
  • Key Characteristic 4: Growth in Learning - 7 subtasks
  • Stem Certification - 10 subtasks
It is a lot of work to do.  But, I have almost 3 years to do it.  Before the 1st year of school is over I want to make sure it is all done.  But, I hope to have it done before school starts in 22.5 months.

NEW Private Online High School - 5th Post - School Calendar

We have finished the school calendar for our first and second year.  We have decided to start with the 2025-2026 school year because there is a lot of work that needs to be done so we can be assured of accreditation.

Please take note of our school calendar, which differs from many high schools. We have fewer school holidays and do not observe a traditional spring break. This unique calendar structure allows our students to enjoy an extended summer holiday of three full months, or for those traveling to Germany, a complete month off.

NEW Private Online High School - 4th Post - Update

Had a meeting with the perspective business partner and we both agreed that the ACT/SAT Prep class should be part of the core offering, not an extra paid class.  This adds an extra benefit to join our school.

We are considering offering extra robotics classes to our after school offerings - this will concentrate on robotics competitions.

We still have not come up with a start date - Aug 2024 or Aug 2025

We also talked about starting an online University.  I said that is something I would like to do AFTER finishing the creation of the high school.

NEW Private Online High School - 3rd Post - Business Partner

This week are looking at three things:

  1. Finding a Business Partner that lives in America that aligns with my thinking.
  2. Thinking about the courses we will offer.
  3. Looking over the requirements for accreditation.
If you are a principal, teacher or a businessman who would like to see the dream of a top-notch virtual high school come true, then please contact me.  One good thing is that since the school is virtual the money requirements before starting are much less than brick-n-mortar schools.  Here are the only fees I could think of...
  • Business license fee.
  • Membership to Cognia $1200. (Cognia is the one that will accredit the high school later)
  • Website Creation Fee + Website hosting fee.
  • LMS fees (at least 6 months before starting the school so we can add lots of material including what educational standards our courses will follow for each lesson)
  • Any other tools we might need to add with LMS. (About 6 months before starting the school to make sure everything is ready).
  • Zoom Professional Fee (once we get very close to starting the school).
  • Paying Salespeople (but hopefully we can find salespeople who will work on commission only)
Here are the things that I hope my business partner agrees with...
The high school will ...
  • Be technically strong in STEM with extra classes in Computers and Robotics (both during school hours and offering after hours classes)
  • Be open around 18-20 hours a day to allow students from around the world to attend and allow students to take night classes especially if their parents work nights to allow them a better family life.  All students would get an American High School Diploma.
  • Focus on the German language to allow all students the opportunity to get a college education for FREE in Germany.
  • Offer optional classes after school for ACT/SAT to help students get scholarships to American colleges if they want to go to universities in America.

NEW Private Online High School - 2nd Post

This week, our attention turns to our class offerings and the exciting array of options we're preparing to provide. At our institution, we are committed to offering a diverse and enriching educational experience tailored to the needs and aspirations of our students. First and foremost, we are proud to announce that we will be offering ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. These courses are designed to support students whose native language is not English, ensuring that they have the linguistic tools necessary for success in all aspects of their education. But that's not all. We understand that the world is rapidly evolving, and the key to a brighter future lies in harnessing the power of technology. To that end, we are wholeheartedly embracing technology as a cornerstone of our educational approach. Our commitment to integrating technology into the curriculum is aimed at providing students with valuable skills that will not only prepare them for the challenges of today but also empower them to thrive in the digital landscape of tomorrow. In the coming weeks and months, we'll be sharing more details about our exciting class offerings, which are designed to inspire, challenge, and nurture the potential within each of our students. Stay tuned as we embark on this educational journey together, with a focus on shaping a brighter future for all.

NEW Private Online High School - Initial Post

 Why?

Why am I starting my own high school?

There are many reasons.

  • Bullying in Public schools are terrible and we can't get rid of bullies until the government gets rid of the pay per student per day program.  Right now schools get paid for each day a person is in class.  So, as you can see, there is an incentive for schools to keep bullies in class.  So, a Private school is best.
  • Private schools are expensive since they have to be paid for by the student's parents.  One big reason is brick-n-mortar costs a lot of money, so virtual is best to keep prices low.
  • But virtual has no tactile experience - so we need to add tactile experience.
  • Many schools don't want to fail students so they either
    • teach at the lowest level which means the very good students cannot reach their full potential.
    • they push the failing students to the next year which makes it harder to pass as classes build on what you learn
  • Most schools don't have strong science/technical programs.
  • Most schools don't properly prepare students for college especially for the financial aspect of it.
